Jack and Lynne Alexander
Founders of QLA; Co-owner, T.A.W. Alma Tractor
Jack and Lynne Alexander are the philanthropists and founders of Quality Life Associates. The Alexanders are on the board of Quality Life and active in the organization’s leadership. The Alexanders live in Mulberry, AR. They have three children and two grandchildren. Jack and Lynne won the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce Residential Construction Appreciation Award for 2008 for the construction of the Village at Scull Creek apartment complex, which is funded through their Scull Creek Limited Partnership.
Kathy Alexander
Daughter of Jack and Lynne Alexander; Brookside resident
Kathy Alexander is a board member of Quality Life Associates and lives at the Brookside residence owned by Quality Life. Kathy is the daughter of Jack and Lynne Alexander, founders of Quality Life Associates. Ms. Alexander attends the Arkansas Support Network (ASN) Foundations Program in Springdale, AR. She is active at her church and is involved in a variety of activities in the community including yoga, swimming, and cognitive retraining.
Joe Edwards
Co-owners, Edwards Design and Construction
Joe Edwards is a board member of Quality Life Associates and husband of Janice Edwards. Joe is co-owner of Edwards Properties, the contractors for the Scull Creek Apartment complex. Joe has a special interest in the treatment and care of people with neurological disorders and brain injuries. Joe and Janice have two sons and three grandchildren. His hobbies include farming, cooking, flying, attending U of A Razorback Basketball games, and being involved in his grandchildren’s activities.
Janice Edwards
Co-owners, Edwards Design and Construction
Janice Edwards is a board member of Quality Life Associates and wife of Joe. Janice is co-owner of Edwards Properties; she works in the accounting department. Janice has a special interest in the treatment and care of people with neurological disorders and brain injuries. The Edwards have two sons and three grandchildren. Janice loves traveling in the family motor home, attending U of A Razorback Basketball games, and being involved in their grandchildren’s activities.
Dan Bekebrede
Director of Operations, Dayco Products
Dan Bekebrede is a board member with Quality Life Associates and is head of the Development Committee that plans the Quality Life annual Garden Party and other fundraising endeavors. Mr. Bekebrede is Director of N.A. Operations at Dayco Products, LLC. Dan and his wife, Valerie, have four children and 10 grandchildren. Dan’s wife works for the NW Arkansas Breast Center and promotes breast cancer awareness. Dan’s hobbies and interests include golf and woodworking.
René Boucher
Board Member, Arkansas Brain Injury Association
René Boucher is a board member of Quality Life Associates. He is married with two children. His wife and daughter are social workers. René is President of the Board at Sources. He is a member of the AR Traumatic Brain Injury Association, Deputy Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, and supports the St. Vincent de Paul Benevolent organization. René is himself a survivor of traumatic brain injury. René was formerly a Wal-Mart Distribution Engineer.
Judith Robertson
Counselor, Private Counseling Practice
Dr. Judith Robertson, LPC, CRC, is a Quality Life Associates board member and part-time counselor for Quality Life. She is a licensed professional counselor and a certified rehabilitation counselor. Judith is recently retired from the U of A departments of Rehabilitation Education and Counseling. Judith is married with three children and two grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading, knitting, and furniture restoration. Dr. Robertson is currently writing a book about the emotional adjustment to chronic disability or illness.
Jim Mather
Executive Director, Sources for Community Independent Living Services
Jim Mather is a board member of Quality Life Associates. He is the Executive Director of Sources, independent living specialists of Fayetteville, AR. Jim’s wife works for the Rogers Chamber of Commerce. Jim is a certified rehabilitation counselor working on his doctorate at the University of Arkansas. He is on the board of Rebuilding Together of NW Arkansas and the steering committee for First Leadership Program of Rogers/Lowell. Jim enjoys golf.
Michael Wilcox
Psychiatric Social Worker, VA; Parent of Scull Creek resident
Michael Wilcox is a Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker in the Mental Health Clinic at the Veterans Healthcare System of the Ozarks. He delivers psychosocial rehabilitation services to veterans recovering from such disorders as substance dependence and combat-related posttraumatic stress. Michael plays the guitar, writes songs, and paints. He and his wife Sharon enjoy bike riding on the Scull Creek Trail with family and friends. Mike dreams about kayaking. Michael's son, Adam, resides at the Scull Creek apartment complex.
Jaynie Stierle
Associate, Wal-mart; Scull Creek resident
Jaynie Stierle is a board member of Quality Life Associates. Ms. Stierle works as a cashier at the Wal- Mart in Fayetteville, AR. She lives at the Scull Creek Apartments and can often be observed walking her dog Snickers around the apartment complex before and after working hours. Ms. Stierle’s presence on the Quality Life board is unique since she provides an insider perspective as a resident of Scull Creek.
Lucy Labowsky
Community resident; former long-term care professional
Lucy Labowsky is a Quality Life Associates board member and also serves on the development committee. Lucy’s previous experience includes recreational therapy for acute care service delivery medical administration. Lucy’s background also includes community service experience providing leadership in the area of event organization, planning, and execution. Lucy is married with two children and one grandchild. Lucy’s hobbies include interior decoration, painting, crocheting, and music. Lucy’s husband Mike volunteers for NW Arkansas Hospice.
